Rinocerose - Music Kills Me (CD Album)

"Music Kills Me" by the French-based pseudo rock house band Rinocerose marks their sophomore album release. Not your typical dance offering, "Music Kills Me" sets out to be more of a live house band experience and the result is a smooth, sometimes retro inspired listening experience. This new offering is being served up on MTA Records, which is a division of V2. MTA is V2's way of focusing their electronic energies into a dance culture imprint and is amongst their initial offering.

Consisting of some 12 tracks, "Music Kills Me" comes off as a spontaneous (mostly instrumental) jam session that features plenty of electric guitars, and funky rock/house beats. At some points, the album approaches an edgy urban soundtrack of house music, yet remains safely in the jazz fusion genre. At other points we look for the funky "Shaft" vocals to make an appearance (they never do - but you get the point).
