- Ray's House
NY based Kinetic Records has released another top continuous mix compilation. This time it is mixed by DJ Ray Munns (who was an MTV DJ for a Day Winner). The non stop mixed "Ray's House" opens with the beautiful and soulful Rui Da Silva feat. Cassandra "Touch Me" original 12" mix and moves right into Azzido Da Bass "Dooms Night" (Timo Mass Remix) which Miami's Power 96 has been playing in heavy rotation with it's very distinctive warped record bass line. The driven "Hide U" by Kosheen is up next and is followed by the ethereal Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan's "Silence" (DJ Tiesto in Search of Sunrise Remix).
Other album highlights of the 11 track set include; the gorgeous Tenth Planet's "Ghosts" (Original Mix which in some places sound's an awful like Madonna's "What It Feels Like For A Girl"), Ascension's "Someone" (Thrillseekers Mix), Dido's "Here With Me" (Parks and Wilson Homeyard Dub) which is also the theme from Roswell, Darude's "Sandstorm" (Original Mix), and Ian Van Dahls feat. Marsha "Castles In The Sky" (Extended Mix) which is still receiving a tremendous amount of airplay here in South Florida.
Coast 2 Coast feat. Discovery's "Home" and
Slyder's epic trance induced mix of "Score" round
out the set and bring the mix to a successful
close. For some unknown reason, there is 10 minute blank gap of dead silence
at the end of the album. Assume ably this was not intentional- no
hidden tracks etc., just silence. This could
become a real annoyance if you have loaded this
into your CD jukebox for a party mix?
Overall Ray has compiled a stellar collection of club length remixes of the hottest tracks. Each track is left in it's club friendly format and the mix flows very well from one hit to another. These are all certifiable club and radio hits so the album never fails. An excellent compilation now available on Kinetic Records and distributed by BMG.
