| UK Infected | ||
| Infected is a brand new clubbing experience, starting at Creation on the 17th October 2003. Incorporating
live acts and DJs of exceptional talent, all of whom are based in and around the Bath and Bristol area. In addition to these
initial acts, we as promoters are always looking to provide opportunities for amateur DJs and local musicians to play to a
wider audience. We are fully aware how difficult it is for undiscovered talent to break into the music industry. Infected
realise that many talented DJs and musicians are never given the opportunity to play in a public arena. To push these acts
to their fullest potential we give them the chance to further their career within the music industry. Future Infected events
will feature an even wider range of local DJs, musicians and producers. We are instigating a premiere launch to help these
djs by holding a competition for them to express their creative talents and also to expand their careers. There is so much
talent in the Bath Area that goes unrecognised that we believe this is an opportunity for them to come to the fore. Acts include: Chemical Dub Theory (1man army record) Rising from the smouldering ashes of the late Bristol funksters ‘Chimera’ Ollie Weeks has emerged from his sound lab to spawn Chemical Dub Theory. Taking influence from old masters such as ‘King Tubby’ and ‘Scientist’. CDT is re-inventing the sound with new technologies and attitude. Their on-stage chemical groove synthesis is fused with the dynamism of live bass and electric cello, tape echoes and ‘lo-fi’ sirens. This act are a proven formula and always get itching crowds moving to the infectious groove of the new CHEMICAL DUB THEORY! All members of CDT attend Bath University Techno Pagan Techno pagan live PA produces an eclectic excursion into the harder sound of trance. Steve has played at many underground events over the last ten years, with various live theatrical performers integrated into the music. The set-up involves no decks or records it’s purely live sequencing, keyboards & a Roland analogue synth guitar. The end result could be placed somewhere between the sounds of Lab 4 & Hallucinogen. Previous alliances include legendary Speekeezy club, Mutant Dance, Space in Swansea & Genetix in Bristol. Also currently getting a live act together as The Little Big Men - a duo of epic proportions to be unleashed later this year. Jon Doe and Lee James Jon Doe started DJing in 1992, buying his tunes from Movement Records (Now Adrenalin) owned by Stu J. In 1995 Jon took a track demo into Movement, which resulted in Stu J and UFO teaching him how to engineer and produce records professionally. His first release was on 'Man From Uncle Records' called 'The Outsider' (limited white label). A year later a second release 'Always' was released and played by the likes of Brisk, Slipmatt and Seduction. Half a year later Stu J (Man From Uncle) and Jon started Space Race records. In mid 96, Jon started working in Movement records while also producing part time on projects such as Electric Kingdom. Lee James is a professional scratch DJ providing an unrivalled live and creative edge to Jon Doe’s sets. Jon Doe and Lee ‘Scartchmaster’ James’s Live PA sets bring Oli Brand Oli Brand, one of Bath’s hardest exports. Started DJing when he was only 14 years old. Now at 22, he has played anywhere and everywhere including Relentless, Pickle and most recently 666.
