NAJM Manifesto


	Many things get lost in the long journey of music from artist's first idea to your ear. Major Record labels tend to dictate music tastes based on mass marketing strategies. Are you just like everyone else? Are you an individual with individual tastes? Homogenized radio airplay lists limit the number of artists you are exposed to. Does everyone really want a Brittany or a Ricky played on every top 40 radio station every 15 minutes?
	Dance Music appeals to NAJM in the mere fact that it stirs the soul. Makes us want to "move to a groove". It is a grass roots movement. Major labels have all but shied away from this genre due to their inability to market it to the masses. This failure is in part due to the idea that these mega labels need so much revenue to cover their over inflated overhead that they are primarily concerned about their bottom line. When's the last time you thought about the bottom line in the middle of a dance floor at 3 am? To the independent label, the music comes first.
	Dance Music is where individual ideas merge with artists, producers, & DJ's to create a truly unique listening experience. Although sometimes simplistic and repetitive, Dance Music can lift the soul and stir the body. The emergence of independent labels has grown out of necessity. Here at NAJM we try to connect the independent artist to the individual listener on a grass roots level. Because our resources are limited, we must focus on quality and integrity. We do this out of the love of music not money. Each relationship we build is cherished and nurtured. Raw talent must shine independently of multi-million dollar studios filled with equipment.
	The internet is the most powerful and far reaching communication tool of the decade. In order to provide you with access to our "voices", we must rely on this new technology for exposure and eventually global distribution. As we develop and mature we hope you too can grow from the experience. Fate has brought us together, destiny will be our end. Peace! :)
